About The Founder

          Let me formally introduce myself, I am Jamison Parker, owner and founder of Southern Twang Second Chance Ranch.

I am a mama of four and a wife, as well as a professional photographer for 10+ years now. As for this rescue, this is something that has been heavy on my heart for YEARS, and I feel that this is my calling, it puts a fire in my soul and I'm ready to hit the ground running and change as many lives as possible. I have the knowledge, the love, the time, and the drive to be able to help change the lives, the outcome and the outlook of abandoned, neglected, mistreated, and/or slaughter bound horses. I have an amazing team of veterinarians, farriers, trainers and like minded individuals to help us make this a success.

        My husband often calls me "Pocahontas" for the relationships, communication, and trust I am able and have always been able to build quickly with animals(mainly Horses) of all sizes that seem to be "broken" or untrusting of humans, animals that people give up on, I'm just not built that way.. I refuse to give up, and I believe that every horse deserves a second chance no matter what their past is, and I strive to build them back up and give them the ability to trust humans again before adopting them out to their forever home.

        All the help along the way is what keeps us going, provides all necessary care for these horses, and every cent helps. We are a registered 501(c)3 NON-PROFIT effective 11/16/2022 and we are able to run efficiently and effectively through donations from our supporters, adopters, and local businesses.
